One of the first questions that both companies and individuals ask when looking for security services is simple: how much will it actually cost? Unfortunately, most security agencies do not list prices on their websites. They just say “call us”. We do things differently.
What affects the cost of security services?
The price of a security agency is not a fixed figure. It depends on a combination of factors:
- Service type, physical guarding of a property differs from VIP personal protection or event security.
- Number of hours, night, day, 24/7 operation or weekends only
- Number of guards, one guard at reception versus a team for a large site
- Location, Prague is more expensive than rural areas, but there is a wider range of services available here.
- Technology, purely physical guarding versus hybrid solutions with cameras
- Qualification requirements: basic guarding vs. armed guard, or VIP specialist
Price list (Prague, 2026)
Physical guarding of the premises
| Type | Price/hour |
|---|---|
| Basic guard (reception, entrance) | 200-280 Kč |
| Qualified security guard (industrial, commercial) | 250-350 Kč |
| Armed guarding | 350-500 Kč |
| Head of Security / Supervisor | 400-550 Kč |
For a monthly contract (8 hours/day, 5 days/week), allow approximately 35 000-55 000 Kč/month for one guard.
VIP personal protection (bodyguard)
| Type | Price |
|---|---|
| One-off operation / event (8 hours) | 4 000-8 000 Kč |
| Daytime deployment with driver | 8 000-15 000 Kč |
| Monthly flat rate (full-time) | 100 000-300 000 Kč |
VIP protection is individual: the price depends on the client’s risk profile, the number of protectors and the operational scope.
Event security
| Promotions | Indicative price |
|---|---|
| Private party (50-100 guests) | 3 000-8 000 Kč |
| Corporate events (100-500 persons) | 15 000-40 000 Kč |
| Larger festival / conference | Individual quotation |
Hybrid solution (physical guarding + technology)
Combination of physical guarding with an AI camera system and remote monitoring:
- Technology installation: 50 000-200 000 Kč (one-off)
- Monthly operation: 20-40% lower than purely physical guarding at the same security level.
Why do prices vary so much?
On the Czech market there are three categories of agencies:
1. Dumping micro-agencies (150-180 Kč/hour) They operate on the edge of costs. Guards receive minimum wage (from 2026 this is 134.40 Kč/hour), insurance is usually minimal, and there is no training. Cheap in the short term, risky in the long term.
2. Middle Market (200-350 Kč/hour) Security guard verification, basic insurance, dispatch centre. Suitable for standard premises.
3. Premium agencies (350-600+ Kč/hour) Certified specialists, high insurance limits, technological infrastructure, SLAs with guaranteed response times, and a personal account manager. Targeting companies and individuals who cannot afford an incident.
What to watch out for when choosing based on price
- The cheapest offer is almost never the best: a guard at 150 Kč/hour has a wage of 130 Kč, insurance of 10 Kč and leaves 10 Kč for the company. That makes no sense.
- Ask about insurance coverage: a reputable agency has liability insurance of at least 10-50 million Kč.
- SLA contract, what happens if a guard fails to show up? Is replacement guaranteed?
- Employee vetting: a criminal record extract should be standard practice
How to save without compromising quality
- Hybrid solution: AI cameras at night, physical guarding only during the day or peak times
- Longer contract: an annual contract is cheaper than a monthly one
- Package solution, if you require multiple services (guarding, CCTV, reception), arrange them as a complete package.
- Request quotes from multiple agencies, but do not compare price alone; also compare what is included in the price.
